Photon Energy expands Operations &Maintenance services to a new market, adding 11 MWp in Romania.

Amsterdam (pta009/30.07.2015/10:00 UTC+2) Photon Energy has expanded its Operations &Maintenance services to a new market, adding 11 MWp in Romania. The company takes over the full monitoring, operations and maintenance for three power plants in the North-West of the country. Photon Energy now provides O&M services to more than 153 MWp across Europe and Australia.

Photon Energy's fully-owned subsidiary Photon Energy Operations has signed contracts for full operations, maintenance and monitoring for three solar power plants in Romania. The company now provides complete facility management services for PV power plants in Germany, Australia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania, while providing its "Inverter Cardio" services in several other countries.

"Romania is an extremely interesting market for solar asset management, but sadly for all the wrong reasons", says Photon Energy CEO Georg Hotar. "Renewable energy entrepreneurs invested more than 6 billion EUR in Romania, just in time for the government to utterly betray them and stab them with retroactive measures that hurt the value and financial results of their investments. This is why it is extraordinarily important for solar power plant owners to have a reliable maintenance partner at hand to keep downtime at a minimum and increase the Net Profit Value of PV projects", Hotar continues.

Photon Energy's O&M strategy is based on a combination of preventive maintenance and in-depth data analysis from its high-end monitoring platform. "By analysing production results and technical data we can help to predict faults and subsequently avoid them with regular preventive maintenance, which in the end keeps costs low and yields high", explains CEO Georg Hotar.

Together with 600 kWp signed earlier this month in the Czech Republic, Photon Energy now provides full O&M services to nearly 100 MWp in Europe and Australia, while providing maintenance services to central PV inverters worth a further 60 MWp in several European countries.
