Bevaix, March 18th 2014 (pta020/18.03.2014/12:10 UTC+1) iLand Green technologies SA is proud to announce to have renewed its partnership with the MDS 2014 and will be supplier of clean and silent power to the MDS in 2014 and 2015. The 29th Marathon des Sables 2014 http://www.marathondessables.com/en/ takes place from April 4th until April 14th 2014 in Marokko. The MDS is one of the most challenging ultra marathons in the world.

Besides the well known solar power generators like TUBE's, TREK's, FLY's and BIGBOXE's iLand has this year a solar dessert 6x6 Truck which will provide energy for the nomadic camp and gives more mobility to carry power to the check points or for urgent intervention for the hospital etc. The Truck carries BIGBOXES and solar panels on the top and the side walls and with its 1kW peak it can supply one quarter to a third of the energy needed.
Another new iLand technology is the inflatable solar farms, without noise and pollution in the dessert but producing silent and clean energy. Those farms will be setup around the stage camps each day of the race.
The whole equipment will support about 3'000Wh peak of power, in one day in the desert it can produces 24'000Wh or 24kWh of energy. We use solar panels as cover for the head quarters, field hospital, etc.
Additional we will have TUBE's at the checks points and for the security people around the base camp as well as TREK's for official person (mobility in the 4x4, not in the base camp) and for sure a lot of FLY's for the runners!!!!
