European technology experts gather in Graz

Graz (pts017/09.10.2013/12:15) The 10th AT&S Technology Forum, which is taking place on 9-10 October 2013 on the Schlossberg hill in the centre of Graz, will focus on new technologies used in printed circuit board development. Around 150 developers and designers from across Europe will take the opportunity to find out more about recent developments in high-end products for the automotive, industrial and medical technology sectors.
Miniaturisation and enhanced performance and reliability are not just vital trends for end-user devices such as smartphones - automotive as well as medical technology applications (such as pacemakers) are also becoming ever smaller, more efficient and more powerful. The innovations introduced by AT&S, the European market leader in high-end printed circuit boards, are extending the useful lives of products and increasing their reliability thanks to the integration of new functions. AT&S also specialises in the small-series production of technologies tailored to customers' needs, in particular industrial clients. On 9 October AT&S will be offering an insight into all of these developments, sharing the benefits of its extensive know-how with its customers and the Technology Forum participants.
The group will also unveil a number of new technologies that help to reduce consumption of resources, and enhance the reuse and recycling of water, copper, energy and other input materials. Delegates will be able to visit AT&S's printed circuit board plant in Fehring, as well as having their say on the latest development trends and project proposals at AT&S in the course of various workshops.
"Over 15 percent of our revenue is generated by products that we have brought to market in the last three years - and that shows just how important technological innovations are for us," commented Heinz Moitzi, Chief Technical Officer AT&S. This is a demonstration of AT&S Group's innovative ability, and also highlights the sheer pace of technological change. More than 300 AT&S employees work in research and development.
